Pretty Swirl Cookies, 5 Steps. Easy Clean-up!

I LOVE to take a perfectly good recipe and substitute away until it's unrecognizable, especially in the name of convenience.  These cookies are fail proof and even the ugly ones were a pretty tie die and tasty! I promise, they look harder than they are.

These were the ugly ones!

What you need:

2 boxes white cake mix (or any flavor really, if you feel adventurous)
3 eggs
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup oil
1 Tbsp vanilla
2-? bowls (1 large for mixing, others for colors)
food coloring
plastic wrap
cooking spray
cookie sheet

What you do:

1. Dump ingredients into large bowl and mix thoroughly.  Spray small bowls and divide dough evenly. Stir in colors and chill until firm.

2. Lay out 2 pieces of plastic wrap and spray. Spread first color onto one piece of wrap then cover with other sheet, spray sides towards dough. roll or press flat. Remove top wrap and repeat with all colors and dough is less than 1" thick.

3. Place wrapped on cookie sheet and chill until firm (15-30 minutes)

4. Lift edge of wrap and gently roll dough into a log. Wrap log and chill until very firm (at least 30 minutes).

4. Slice 1" thick and bake on sprayed cookie sheet at 325 degrees for about 15 minutes.

5. Throw away wrap and rinse dishes. Place dishes in dishwasher and you're done!

That simple, really. 15 minutes or less actual work and people will think it took forever!
